Do some research before recommending Vonage for businesses. No business I work with would be willing to put up with Vonage's tech support, nor can they afford to be on hold for 25 minutes trying to reach a script-reading offshore rep. It'd be like recommending AOL for business internet. It might work, but won't work well and will cost far more than the real solutions already available.
On a side note, I'm finishing up another Voip PBX this weekend. (First 2007 PBX install/retrofit for me) Replacing an aging and failing NEC PBX. 10 lines / 50 extensions. Everything's been built and configured off-site. The IP PBX has been feeding the NEC POTS lines for the past two weeks without a hitch. We're bringing in the rest of the equipment this afternoon and will start installing today & tomorrow. If everything goes to plan, we should be able to plug everything in, throw the switch, and start using the system immediately. When the employees come in on Monday, there'll be new phones on their desks. I probably would have left the system as-is (IP PBX spoon-feeding the NEC) but they needed to add more extensions and lines and the NEC voicemail system is starting to falter. |
