Setup: 2 xp pro machines. Vonage motorola vt2442 adapter
Comcast cable service, Motorola SB1500 cable modem (not router).

I have 2 pcs on the network that are connected via the Vonage box. The box has 4 ethernet ports. Initially everything works fine. The Vonage box's ethernet lights are solid green,power is solid green. After I leave the computer for about 10 minutes it kicks me of the network/internet. A red X appears over the network icon in the lower right. This is for both pcs. The Vonage box's ethernet port lights in which the pcs are plugged in are out. But the funny thing is I can still make phone calls. I usually have to reboot the Vonage box and comcast modem for it to work again for about 1/2 hour. I have tried the following things

1. Replaced all the cabling
2. Replaced the comcast modem
3. Reset both the comcast and Vonage box
4. Restarted the PC
5. Turned all Firewalls off

Another thing if I plug the pc directly into the Comcast box everything works fine.

Could it be a heating issue? Have you tried changing the location of the box so that it will run cooler? What happens if you plug just one computer into it?

I moved it around. Even went far as placing it near window. I tried just one PC and still the same thing. Searching this forum I see others have similar problems. UHHH!

Very strange. I hate to point fingers at hardware without good evidence, but if it isn't a bad VT2442 then I haven't a clue.
