PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2006 4:52 pm    Post subject: Which UK ISP? Reply with quote Back to top

I will shortly be setting up the communications (phone and internet) for a city flat and am wondering which ADSL packages people have found to work well (or not work) with Vonage service.

My local cable provider does not seem to serve my flat (despite having cables running up the walls)

----

If Vonage is wanting to expand in a big way in the UK offering a combined internet and VOIP phone service may work. (Some UK companies offer broadband with call packages over the conventional land line.) If this package could be provided with an 'In contact' or similar (incoming calls only) package that would be great.

Can't comment specifically on its compatibility with Vonage (although I'm sure it is) but I always found Zen (www.zen.co.uk) to be an excellent ADSL provider.

I have used BT, sky and telewest with no problems from any of them with Vonage.

However I am not recommending Sky because they do not provide the speed they promise and went 2 months beyond their activation date, Vonage works fine on sky broadband once they switched it on. Still awaiting reimbursement from Sky for the diversion costs of vonage to my mobile during the wait for their broadband to start working. Confused

I got telewest as a backup after 2 weeks without broadband (thanks to sky) and because I was sick and tired of being dependant on BT's exchanges. (and all their lame excuses) Twisted Evil
