Hey spin doctor TROWSKI..... bottom line is if the subscriber puts in 90 days of service as agreed, they are legally entitled to their rebate without an unreasonable delay.

If it makes you feel any better, the fault may not apparently rest with Vonage as it is GFS that services and maintains the rebate program. (I anticipate that would be the Vonage legal defense)

I can't believe your short sightedness. Lets call a spade a spade, there is no excuse for delaying the rebate payment. Why is it that GFS provides toll free 800 numbers on their webpages for "other vendor" rebate offers as opposed to no contact info for Vonage customers? If I had to guess, I would say that Vonage choose the cheaper service plan, i.e. no customer rebate support.

I will revisit this issue in 15 days.... Hopefully GFS will have upgraded my status and mailed me a check, although I am not counting on it....

One last question, are you sure that you are not a Vonage principle, employee, or investor spouting the company line?????

My suggestion is that anyone who does not get their rebate within 120 days, thats a full 30 days past the contractual 90 day agreement, file a Better Business Complaint against GFS. Do you have a problem with that course of action?????

Then you should start a GFS thread on a GFS forum. Spin doctor no, sick of peope not taking ownership, yes. You make yourself seem like the problem may lay elsewhere...That has been said numerous times over numerous threads...

Some people have legit claims, others I think do come here just to vent when things go wrong that may be their fault...

So, I just tried the "prequalify" website for the rebate I'm due for the PAP2. It tells me I do not qualify. I've reviewed all the information, dates, etc. and I *do* qualify. so, before I send in my stuff I guess I'll give them a call. Only problem is that I am very close to the deadline for postmark date, so if I can't get it resolved quickly, I may be out of luck.

I'm using rebate VON-5820 for dates covering 7/24/05 - 8/3/05 from Best Buy. I've activated my PAP2 and its working great. I just hope that I get the rebate they promised me.

Chalk this issue up to the "ID-10-T" error. I was entering my phone number instead of my account number into the form. All fixed now.

Fishboy made a mistake, and caught it. How many people do you think had this issue? Human error can be a big wrench in the wheel.

But I digress. You came here spouting you poison even prior to the rebate time requirement. Plus you have not answered some of my questions...If you think I am a spindoctor, than you sir are a dodger...You come in with your threats, your supposed mediacontacts chomping at the bit to get hold of this story etc, even before you personally had an issue. Where are you pretty ponies now? Glue factory I would think...Why not spend your time and energy somewhere else...god knows there are people right now that could use the energy (and your rebate money) to be put to good use.

Again, I have ZERO ties to Vonage, except as a loyal customer...

How many of you have even called Vonage about the issue? I called and the rep. gave me a number for the company that handles rebates.
He said if they gave me greif he could do a three with us.

Anyway, I just want to say calling em helps. I got my rebate from Vonage yesturday.

So, now im glad I made the decision to buy my adapter.

It isn't time yet for my rebate, but when I pre-registered they e-mailed me a website that let's me see each individual step including when I pre-registered, when they got the mail-in information, when the check was processed, and when the check was mailed. I will let you know what I find out. I am not at home right now and the website is on my home Outlook file. I will keep you posted somewhere on this forum.

About 6 months. My status was stuck on step three for a while. Once my 90 days was up and emailed them about it. THe next day they e-mailed me back saying they would send me a check ASAP. A coupel days later my status on web-rebates.com went BACKWARS! Eek

ANyway, I was away for about a month. When I got back and got around to calling them, the Vonage rep gave me another number to call. I called the other number, talked with them a bit, and a few weeks later recieved my check.

If i had called them earlier i could have shaved a month or two off thoough.

My rebate took 7 months. I bought an RT31P2 at Best Buy on 02/02/2005. My Vonage account was opened on 02/08/2005. I received the rebate check in the mail on 09/07/2005. Acknowledgement of the rebate's status never showed up on the Best Buy or Linksys rebate websites, only at https://www.web-rebates.com/vonage/

Just got mine this week - just over 6.5 months. I called Vonage in July after my status went backwards on the web site and got someone that knew nothing about nothing who had to check with someone else each time to give me an answer about every question I asked. It seems rebates out of Staples are handled differently and he finally gave me their number, once he learned the same thing 5 seconds before telling me. I called Staples and they were great and fixed it in a couple of minutes

I've never had any trouble with rebates before, until Vonage. Let's see, the slow number transfers are the old line telephone companies fault and the the slow rebates at the fault of the fulfillment companies. Very Happy Could never be the fault of Vonage Embarassed

Other than the still unexplained service melt-downs in March and August, I've been a happy camper with the service. I just hope Vonage is sold soon, so hopefully someone with better customer service experience can fix what is wrong.

Also, there was an interesting article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal August 26 concerning Vonage and its competition that somehow didn't seem to make it onto this website's news listing Rolling Eyes The cute item in the article was how Vonage refers to its competition as Von-a-bees. The most interesting item was how Citron, at the end of the article, stated that Vonage didn't want or need to be the lowest price service in the market in that they were selling SERVICE Eek , which the WSJ pointed out is exactly what the old line telephone companies said too, when Voip first came out.
