Post subject: Third and Fourth email and phone call - 8 months - NO REBATE
I find it incredibly insulting that
Vonage
would continue to try to cheat their OWN customers out of the rebate - the rebate for the product which allows us to access and use their service.
I have emailed
Vonage
three times regarding this problem and still have heard nothing regarding my rebate ($50). I have called them three times, called Amazon, and everyone puts the blame on everyone else. lol Unbelievable.

Post subject: Vonage mail-in rebate scam
There are 3 thing we all duped customers can do about it
First - Lodge a complain about all this to your local Better Business Bureau at
http://www.bbb.org/,
and I know for sure it works
Second - File a complaint with Federal Trade Commission at
https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01,
this will certainly work if we have enough number of complaints
Third - Write a rebate payment demand letter to the vendor from where you purchased the
Vonage
item with mail-in rebate. I have read about a lawsuit won against a vendor to pay mail-in rebate if the manufacturer fails to do so.
I am going to call
Vonage
ones for last time and then I will do all the 3 of above and see where it reaches.

I signed up with
Vonage
in mid-December and my rebate just arrived this week.
Hang in there.

Post subject: Re: bad experience with vonage rebate!!!
This is the situtation I am in as well. I had double checked the MAC number I entered on the rebate form was correct before mailing it an was also written on the receipt. I called
Vonage
actually using my
Vonage
account which has the correct MAC associated with it. The employee opened a ticket for me, saying they would email me back. I never received an email. He confirmed the mac address for the account and said that he didnt understand why they would send a card stating that it was the incorrect MAC when they are an associated company and can check to see it if it a valid account.
After a month of waiting I called back and they said they sent an email and argued when I said the email was never received.
I understand that they use another company for the rebates and the second employee, Mina, after telling me several times that you have to be signed up with service for 3 months before they honor the rebate, gave me a number for AVS of 1800 347 4041. Turns out it is simply a number for a talk line. I called back and they would not transfer me back to Mina so I spoke to Stephanie Battle who would not give me a company name or number for the rebates and instead gave me a web address of
www.web-rebate.vonage.com
which does not work. I confirmed this address with her. The actual page is
https://www.web-rebates.com/default.asp
or if you bought at circuit city you can use
http://www.web-rebates.com/vonage/von-5345/
. I agree with the others that this is unreasonable and that they should be honor their commitments and not blame the third party company or if they say its the other companies fault at least let us contact the third party directly, without giving out incorrect information, especially if they are just giving out information to get customers calling in with problems off the phone. I will also be contacting BBB regarding this.

I know I am not alone when I have rebate issues. I have solved a few similar problems with other companies. But this
Vonage
rebate looks harder to get:
After waiting for 3 months, I received a postcard saying "the MAC address is invalid or you did not activate the
Vonage
account on
www.vonage.com/activate
". ( the MAC number was printed on the receipt and I also hardwritten the MAC in the field correctly). I called the number on the card, and confirmed with tech support that the MAC address I submitted was correct, and the tech support guy even opened a case for me to chase down this rebate problem. But nothing happened since then.
So I sent an email detailing the problem on Jan 27, 2005 to
Vonage
Customer Care, and got a new case number (#1153185) from the AUTOMATED response. Now still nothing happened after 10 days. I tried to call the customer service phone again, but could not be connected to anyone (there is no manu for rebate problem at all).
I just don't know how the "24 hour x 7 day" customer service email can response so slowly. What if the problem is technical troubleshooting?
What else I can do to get the attention of the company to get my rebate back?

FTC? Class action lawsuits? Good lord.....I wish between work, children, etc I had enough freetime on my hands for all of this...It took about 4-5 months to get the rebate, but it came...You should be posting all this on the web rebates website instead of here....

a bit of a stupid question... if you paid for the phone through credit card... can you not dispute the charge on the bill saying that the rebate didnt come through??? does the dispute have any impact on your credit history??

""
In regards to your email, we will be happy to assist you in the
problem you are experiencing with the rebate in question. I checked
and you indeed have met the in-service requirement, we will have GFS
automatically relaese your check. GFS is the third party, who
