Intereseing sense of humor.
Do you find your company cheating people out of money funny?
How come you couldn't answer my post?

To clear this all up...there is NO fraud going on with our rebate program...I know of many satisfied customers in this respect. Our rebate program is handled by a fullfillment company in Ogden, Utah. When a rebate submission is incomplete or in error of some sort, they usually send out a postcard explaining the problem, AND the credit card has the RESUBMISSION address on it, which is different from the original submission address. I have these addresses on my computer at work. If u call
Vonage
Customer Care at 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357) or 1-732-650-6699 and ask for me (Joe Scott), and I will give it to u.
Hey, JScott, it don't matter if
Vonage
uses a rebate company or not, if the customer doesn't get the rebate they deserve in a reasonable amount of time (6-8 weeks is BS!!) then it is
Vonage
who needs to be accountable. If it takes
Vonage
to send the rebates to THEIR customers, then so be it. You can fire that "fullfillment company in Ogden, Utah" that isn't servicing your customers, BUT YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE!!!
Take a look at Dell's rebate program. It is Best of Breed. They manage and service it themselves. I got a Dell rebate within a week after sending it off. Can
Vonage
say the same or do they don't care, because "a fullfillment company in Ogden, Utah" is handling it. Head in the sand if I do say so myself.
What say you, JScott?

I purchased and started my
Vonage
service in July of 2004. My rebate has been in "processing mode" to this day. My emails to the processing company go unanswered. I am very happy with the service that
Vonage
provides, however a little more responsibility needs to be taken in respect to the rebate situation

I agree with other posters that recomend that you purchase the service online and wait for the "free MTA". I too have had bad luck with rebates from Best Buy, and C.C. as well as other retailers. Sometimes you get the rebate, and sometimes you dont. You must do everything just right or you will not get the rebate. I refered a friend to
Vonage
, and she got 1 month free service, and I got a credit that day for 2 free months of service(based on the plan she signed up for). I think this works much better than a rebate program. If you are concidering
Vonage
and dont know anyone who can refer you then just use the coupon on this site.

I have had problems getting the rebate too. I called today and spoke with someone in the
Vonage
cancellations department. He offered me two free months of service as an option on getting the rebate issue fixed. I accepted since I love the service and didn't really want to dump it.

I respect your decision, but all you have done is enabled
Vonage
to screw you at every turn.
You should be in charge of spending your money and not be forced to take a credit.
What if there service fell apart tomorrow? You would have 2 FREE months of garbage service. You would then have to plop money down for a new provider and be out your rebate.
As long as
Vonage
knows that you won't ever leave them, they will cut corners and continue to cheat others like out of money.
In simple terms,
Vonage
counts on people like you.
I wish you the best.
As for me, I quit.
I can't and won't support a business that cheats and lies, regardless of how many "free" months they would ever offer.

Actually, I could have had Circuit City provide me with the $50. From what I have found out, a retail outlet in California that advertises a product with a rebate is responsilbe to provide the rebate if the manufacturer, etc does not follow through. CC did this for me before, but I wanted to solve this today. The credit works for my situation, but is not ideal for everyone.
Hopefully,
Vonage
will at least survive for the next couple of months so I can recover my $50
I don't think they are a bad company, just a bit disorganized. I have run into much worse; ever heard of TracFone

I don't think Georgia has the same law as California. However, I did notify the Circuit City Excutive Response Team that I will not be shopping there for 1 year.
I can tolerate a copmpany being disorganized.
I will not tolerate being lied to.

Post subject: bad experience with vonage rebate!!!
I know I am not alone when I have rebate issues. I have solved a few similar problems with other companies. But this
Vonage
rebate looks harder to get:
After waiting for 3 months, I received a postcard saying "the MAC address is invalid or you did not activate the
Vonage
account on
www.vonage.com/activate
". ( the MAC number was printed on the receipt and I also hardwritten the MAC in the field correctly). I called the number on the card, and confirmed with tech support that the MAC address I submitted was correct, and the tech support guy even opened a case for me to chase down this rebate problem. But nothing happened since then.
So I sent an email detailing the problem on Jan 27, 2005 to
Vonage
Customer Care, and got a new case number (#1153185) from the AUTOMATED response. Now still nothing happened after 10 days. I tried to call the customer service phone again, but could not be connected to anyone (there is no manu for rebate problem at all).
I just don't know how the "24 hour x 7 day" customer service email can response so slowly. What if the problem is technical troubleshooting?
What else I can do to get the attention of the company to get my rebate back?
