Here's a problem.
- I had a phone number with Bell 514-xxx-xxxx.
- We're moving and got Vonage with a phone number 613-xxx-xxxx
- After a week I decided to move the 514 number to Vonage
- I was told that after moving the 514 number to a Vonage as a second line, I could then attach it as a virtual number to my primary 613 account.
- So far so good. Two separate lines, 514 and 613.
- Today, Friday at about 4 PM I phone Vonage and asked them to make the 514 number "virtual" on the 613 account.
- Within minutes, the 514 number stopped working.
- Now people who phone the 514 number get "The number you have dialed is not in service."
- I'm told that this problem MIGHT be solved by Monday.
Moral of the story. Don't do anything like this late on a Friday on an afternoon. |

So, they fixed the problem. They called me and said it was an "XML problem" - somthing "pointing to the wrong number."
When I asked if it took him only 10 seconds to fix, he said it did!
I'm glad I'm back to normal, but I don't understand why it took almost 50 hours to fix this problem which it seems to be so simple, and on Saturday, I was told it had been elevated to "level 3 technical support." |
