Hoping someone can help. I just purchased the D-Link DGL-4300 router. I have the VT1005v phone adaptor. When I connect the phone adaptor to the router, my internet connection drops. Once I remove it, the connection returns. I have firmware version 1.7 on the router. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this?
Prior to the DGL-4300 router, I was using another d-link router that came with the Verizon Fios setup. Never had a problem with the old setup.
Thanks! |

First, you might want to setup your VT1005 between your modem and your router, by disconnecting all your devices except your computer. First, plug your ethernet cable between cable modem and your VT1005 and plug your cable modem to your wall outlet and wait 30 seconds. Second: plug your VT1005 to your router and plug your VT1005 to your wall outlet and wait 30 seconds, and last, plug your router to the wall outlet and your computer should detect your router. You might want to configure your VT1005, though, if your Verizon FIOS's modem doesn't serve as a DHCP Server (DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). |

I appreciate your quick response -- thank you!
I did find the problem. It was related to a setting on my router. I had to disable the option for UPnP. Once I did that, I reconnected the adaptor to the router and it worked perfectly! |
