I am trying to split one line into 2 lines (L1=RG and L2=BY). But I forgot what that adapter is. I think its called a Y adapter (Here's a picture (sorry for the huge picture):

However, I am not sure whether this adapter converts one line into two (but it looks like it). What I plan on doing is plugging my alarm into the root of the Y and then plugging Vonage into one of the branches. Then on the other branch, connect a central phone hub (junction box). However, I dont know which branch has the RG or the BY lines because my alarm receives dial tone from the RG and then sends it to the BY line (rest of the house).
Is this product the right one for my purposes? |

No, the Y adapter that you've pictured simply makes one jack into two jacks in parallel. What you're looking for is an L1/L2 adapter. The two output ports on that one will be labelled L1 and L2. Yours has no labels. |

I see... Ok. I found the three adapter thing and it has L1, L2, L1+L2. I know the last one has all the pins, but how do I know which jack has RG or BY? |

The one labelled L1 should be RG and the one labelled L2 should be YB. |
