As an alternative, you can go to dynamic addressing on everything. Leave the VT1005 alone, but change the computer to dynamic and set the router up as a DHCP server. Leave the WAN side of the router alone.
I have tried everything, but it is still not working. My rourter is a DHCP server now and my PC is using dynamic addressing.
I guess I will have to get a new device.
OK, you went with the alternative- a good choice IMHO. What happens if you plug your computer into the LAN side of the VT1005? Can you access the VT admin page? Can you access the internet? I assume you can access the internet with the PC plugged into the router, right?

Yes, I can access the internet via the router but not via the
Vonage
device and I can't get response from the VT admin page.
Power light keeps blinking.

OK, you're probably right about needing a new VT1005. Before you get it, try one more thing. Set your computer for static addressing and assign an address in the default address range of the VT (192.168.102.xxx, where xxx is 2 to 254). Plug into the LAN side of the VT and see if you can get to the admin page. If you can, make sure that the VT is set up to get its address dynamically.

What should I put in the Gateway and DNS fields?
By the way, I can't find the VT1005v here in Peru, but I found Linksys PAP2. Would I have any problems if I buy it?

I don't think you have to worry about these fields; you're only trying to access the VT admin page.
Since you already have a router, the PAP2 should work fine.

I want to thank you Steve for your help. I am getting a new device. Here, it's very difficult to find phone adapters and the few ones I found are very expensive. A friend offered to send me his adapter from the US but it has already an existing line. Now my question is how to move my line to that adapter with existing line. Can you help? Thanks.

Moving a line to a new adapter is easy. You just get on the
Vonage
site and register the new adapter. Then you use the feature that allows you to switch between adapters.
The problem is with registering the adapter. If it isn't a
Vonage
unit (in their data base), they won't accept it. If it's a
Vonage
unit that someone else has used, they usually won't take it either. They may accept it if your friend calls customer service and personally requests that they transfer his unit to you. They'll sometimes do that.
If you have a cooperative friend with
Vonage
service at your current location, it would be instructive to have him/her bring his adapter to your place and make sure that it works with your service. That would seal the case against your VT1005.
