the phone is cordless, 5.8 GHz, power comes from the same outlet as the cable modem, wireless router, Voip router, and a lamp in that corner.
static seems to go away if i cut power to the RPT300 for a few minutes then plug it back in, but then static is back in about 10 minutes, im reading in another thread it may be overheating, this sounds plausible to me.
