The Beatles. Queen would have never been able to do what they did had The Beatles not come along first. Queen never held #1 - 5 in the Billboard Top 100. Matter of fact I don't really know how many number 1 songs that Queen had but I'll guess it wasn't more then 5. I believe The Beatles had either 20 or 25 number one's.

Having said that Queen was and still is a great band. Musically they probably created more complicated projects then The Beatles did, but again The Beatles opened the door to that. Queen was best in their early years, The Beatles were at their best since their first album.
