The PAP2 is intended for use with a router, and as far as I can determine, has no settings to permit establishing a PPPoE connection if that's required. By far your simplest alternative if you want to use the PAP2 in your situation is to get a good router. Alternatively, get rid of the PAP2 and replace it with a Vonage combination router/adapter, like the Motorola VT2442.

i highly agreed!!!
pap2 box was configured to DHCP settings.
and if you are using DSL service you should set this one to PPPOE mode which is impossible, because there's no way to configure it.
No setup page to change the settings. In this case, router is needed. But, if you have a DSL modem/router, it might work, because sometimes this modem/router was set to DHCP settings.

hope this one could helps! Wink Wink Wink

the linksys PAP2 can be configured to work with direct connection to your DSL modem. the connection protocol should be STATIC IP or DHCP. ( PPPoE is not a supported config on that device)
