i'm pretty sure that von wouldnt do anything with caller id. i know that when you bring your number over you can keep the directory assistance listing on the LoA you fill out, but i dont think you can change it after that. you'd have to port the number back out to your old carrier, change it with them, and then port it back to Vonage and keep the directory listing again... |

that's right! that's the reason why i want you to manually change the name on the other hands caller id unit (phonebook). |

Wonderful. |
Outbound caller ID is a Vonage feature in as much as they correctly pass your number with the signalling information. Unfortunately, what they do not do is submit the account holder's name to the various databases that are used to match a name to this number. If your phone number was originally ported into Vonage from a POTS service then the number is probably still active in these databases which is why someone who call sees a name. However, there is no way to change this name anymore since it is effectively a dead entry and it will most likely eventually expire anyway at which point a name will no longer appear at all. |

well, your point is correct on that part but when you said that it's a Vonage feature, no it's not.nobody can see ur name displays on the other parties caller id if that number is originally from Vonage, not unless, it was from other carrier.
ask shihata on this...hahaha!!! |

You stated that "outbound Caller ID" is not a Vonage feature. However, it clearly is since without it the called party would not see a name or number. What you meant is that "outbound Caller ID with name" is not a Vonage feature. |
