Try this!
Vonage
sent me a new Linksys Router Rt31P2 (with 2 phone ports in the peice of equipment), enabling me to get rid of the Netgear Router and ATA (or MTA...I tried both). From what I understand this Linksys is a new model. This has been 100% sucessful. I can fax miltiple pages and even in color. They sent it to me for free and paid for the shipping fot the ATA to go back to them. (My printer is an HP 7100 all-in-one. I know many of you are having trouble with these) GOOD LUCK!

Fax is an issue - but I think I have the solution
This came from a HO tech support guy -
Use a phone cable from you fax device that has only 2 conductors in it and the backwards dsk filter. Also prefeace all of your phone number s with *99 (if you have a moto device).
The dsl fileter trick helped me alot but when I tried to talk to HP about it, I actually got a tech who told me about the 2 wire phone cord. I know it sounds crazy but the 2 wire thingy makes a difference.
If you cant find one - make one from CAT5 cable and only connect the two inner connectors on each end.
I could go into the technicalities of this solution (think of a dipole antenna and induction in the flat satin cable) but do not want to bore you.... try it! I now fax 100% of the time and even connect my modem at 56kbps reliably.
