It sure would be in Vonage's best interests if they could also provide broadband internet service to customers - maybe provide cable connection (at least) to consumers. It sure would solve all these problems concerning customers thinking that Vonage is their ISP - which isn't true (No internet, no Vonage service). Also, we can avoid having customers with dial-up connections as well.
For Vonage's tech support, they would have an easier time resolving issues regarding audio, and all that techy stuff, because the internet service is wholly "in Vonage's court" already, so to speak. Since the ISP's usually third party, agents would have to refer customers to the ISP company, which could have settings that (theoretically) might not be compatible with the Vonage service.
The next step, then, would be to provide some sort of TIVO compatibility... try to find out ways to make TIVO devices work in a "plug-and-play" manner.
