I understand that you can plug the line 1 port into a line 1 wall jack and the line 1 phone into another line 1 wall jack in the office. But if you plug the line 2 Vonage port into the only line 2 wall jack, where do you plug the line 2 phone? |
My office has (2) adjacent wall jacks installed, one for home number, and second for office number. Both connect back to a single, 2-line phone (900 mhz).

That would not be ideal, obviously, as I will not be permanently running a cable across my hallroom and through the master bedroom for connectivity, but at least we could ID the issue.
Thanks again, will report findings tomorrow.... |

Prior to running a cord to what I thought was the closest available jack in the adjacent room, I decided to do a thorough check of all the outlets in the office space where the network comes in. I'm glad I did. Turns out when Cox installed the extra line, they apparently disconnected the original wall jack behind my desk, and reconnected another jack which used to be a fax line years ago. When I plugged the adapter into the (what I formerly thought was a waste of wall space) viola! All systems seem to be a "GO".
Once again, it turns out to be just aother newb oversight.
Thanks for all the time and assistance!

Excellent. I'm glad it worked out. |
