This isn't a spam. When I hooked up with Vonage last month, I was very disappointed to discover that the Click2Call feature was for Windows users only! I immediately set out to find a solution for Mac users.
After a bit of research (Obviously, this forum was part of it, but not available!), I discovered that some people over at MacOSHints came up with a script for Apple's Address Book which I modified and posted to support 7 digit, local phone numbers. While this was a great feature and sort of a solution, but not what Windows users seem to benefit from.
Some more research located a neat little application called MacDialer which dials from the Modem or Speakers with all the features of Click2Call, plus a few! It also supports scripts which made it easy to put Vonage dialing into it, but with the inconvenience of hearing it dial through the speaker as well.
I posted an email to the author asking if perhaps he could add Vonage support to MacDialer. I got an email back in a few minutes telling me he'd look into it. By the next day, he'd added Vonage to the next beta version, and after I sent feedback, he fixed the minor flaws and posted a great functioning beta version with full Vonage support!
Check it out! The shareware is minor and well worth it.
Niether iAddressX or JPT offer the features of Click2Call. MacDialer works from any program, supports hot keys, a menubar icon and is tightly integrated into AddressBook. It will dial any selected phone number or even look up a selected name and call the phone number in the AddressBook!
These are the features I needed and wanted. None of the others offer that.
