i've been happy with my Vonage so far, though every 2 or 3 weeks when comcast refreshed my ip address i think it throws my router out of whack and i need to restart it, no big deal though. i'd much rather take 5 minutes out of a saturday morning and restart everything in the network than pay 75/mo for verizon. |

Been considering it for a while and almost signed up two weeks ago until I found out about the Circuit City deal.
I ended up stopping by on Black Friday but got a $200 Gift Card instead of buying anything on the spot (the $99 laptops where gone anyway)...
So far I'm waiting on the local transfer to be done, and only have a cheap/bad cordless phone attached to it.
BTW, before you sign up:
a) make sure you remove any slam blocks with the current provider b) if you have a PO Box for your mail address, you must change it to a physical address
So far, the quality I was able to test was very good (considering the bad phone I used there).
Also, I would not consider it if you have any cheap DSL service (ie 768k/128k) since the upload is too low... |

FWIW, I have ported two phone numbers from Qwest to Vonage. Both went very smoothly. We have a separate billing address from our physical house address. The first time I ported a number, I entered the billing address, which is explicitly requested by Vonage. It was bounced back by Qwest, and I had to call Vonage to straighten matters out. The second time I ported a number, I ignored Vonage's explicit instructions, and just entered the physical house address. The port sailed through without problems. |
