I've had 2 Vonage lines since 2004 and wanted to protect my original number by porting to another service. Sunrocket was unable to port despite a number of calls, emails etc. I don't think they had a fail safe number too if your internet went down, at least none that I found whiles using them for about 30 days. I think I have managed to port the number over to Callvantage, supposed to take effect 5/30. The process was long, about two months, but no work on my part. Their phone adapter won't sit behind my router as far as I know, but I do like the call filtering feature even though its another 2 bucks. It also doesn't work with my home alarm, which is why I am keeping the 2nd line with Vonage. Not sure about HDTivo or Directv HR20-700 combatibility yet, another reason for keeping Vonage. It took many calls to tech support and two phone adapters to get the ease of use of Vonage! |

Actually, the CallVantage TA will work fine behind a router. If you have any issues doing it, call CV support and ask for Level 2 support as the initial folks answering can just do basic support. My TA is behind the router. |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I ported two numbers from qwest to vonage---no problem there. 18 months later I am trying to port same numbers to broadvoice--- first number ported in three days (02/18/07), second number has not ported as of today. Keep getting wrong address reply from broadvoice, even thought all account information was the same when numbers first ported into Vonage, I am on my 5th number port attempt changing records of service address back to info from qwest. Vonage and all others deal with third party carrier to complete transfers but I am not able to see what information Vonage has other what they tell me ie billing / service same as web site. the above of course was accompanied by countless phone calls and email messages. so whats the next step ???
