It appears that several people have been experiencing the problem of one-way audio on most outgoing calls (you cannot hear anything after dialing a number, but the call goes through and you can be heard, i.e. no inbound audio on outbound calls). See posts titled "silence after dialing" and "one way audio and no ringing from vt2442." (sorry, not sure how to link).

Please reply if you are having similar problems, and include:

1) area code or geographic location
2) router type
3) approx. when you noticed the problem

Please do not respond with "please post tech details listed in sticky at top of forum," as that is getting a little old and it is not always necessary to dig up all of that information. This post is meant to give people an idea of how common this problem is and not to troubleshoot one particular user, although possible explanations are welcomed. Thanks.

I am having a similar problem. For the past week or so a lot of my outgoing calls the other person cannot hear me, but I can hear them. My info:

1) 215 (PA)
2) Linksys RTP300
3) Twice last week, twice today

Same problem here last night but sort of reverse. I can here the parties I am calling fine, but they can't hear me at all. Called two different destinations, Upstate New York, and Las Vegas, NV from Brooklyn, NY. Called customer service and went thru the motions with them for a while.. resetting the router and all that... they were attempting to pass me on to "advanced technical services" and I got disconnected in the hold process. Decided to stop here and see if any postings were up about this topic before calling them again.

My info:

1) 718 (Brooklyn, NY)
2) Linksys RT31P2-VD
3) 11/21 & 11/22 (Monday & Tuesday) haven't tested yet today

My parents have Vonage and are experiencing one-way audio when they make local calls. This has been going on for about 3-4 months.

1. 317-839-xxxx is their number (ported over from SBC/Ameritech in 2005ish)

2. Motorola VT1005V, behind a Linksys WRT54G running Talisman 1.1 firmware, with ports 5060-5061 UDP and 10000-20000 TCP forwarded to the VT1005.

3. It seems about 95% of outgoing calls to local AT&T/SBC prefixes are one-way. HOWEVER when they call my Austin, Texas (512) Cingular cell phone number the call is always two-way 100% of the time. Also I have a 317-xxx-xxxx Vonage number and that is two-way 100% of the time as well.

I'm going to try putting the VT1005 directly behind the cable modem with the WRT54G and LAN behind that, and will report my findings.
