to reset device just press reset button for more than 10 seconds. because If the reset button is pressed for less than the recommended 10 seconds, this action will have no effect on the telephone adapter.
hpe this helps |
New Vonage user here. Tried the information in this thread but still cant login. I do get the Motorola page but the page just hangs. Even if you dont put in username and password, its the same hanging.

Welcome aboard. You might get better response to this if you start a new thread in the Voip forum. Most of the discussion here, this thread notwithstanding, is on hard wiring.
In the meanwhile, check the settings on your computer and make sure that it's set up to get its IP dynamically (automatically) via DHCP. If you've done a hard reset on the VT2142, then you should be able to log on to its admin page using the default name and password (router). What do you mean when you say that the page hangs? |

Hi Folks, Just wanted make some clarifications here. To reset the factory defaults on the motorola 2142 or 2442, you MUST hold the reset button in for a minimum of 30 seconds. After which, all the lights will shut off on the front and start to recycle. After which, you should power cycle the entire network by turning everything off. Wait thirty seconds, then turn each box on one at a time and let each reset before turning on the next in line. The IP address of the 2142 and 2442 is 192.168.15.1. The network configuration should be Modem>>Vonage device>>Router>>PC(s). And the default user name/password is not admin/admin on the Motorolas. It's router/router.
Peace, Bill |
