Hello Vonage!
I work for The Tax Club and we are having troubles with our dedicated fax lines. Is fax through voip just as reliable as phone line fax.
I will be looking for your response
Best Regards
The Tax Club

Frankly, I don't think it can be done. Voip is inherently VOICE over IP, and therefore when it compresses the fax signals, it won't do a good job.
What I would recommend is just getting a "soft"fax line. I do this for my small legal practice, through maxemail.com. The line costs me something like $100 a year to receive faxes (up to 200 pages a month, after that it's a small fee), and I send faxes at 5 cents per 30 seconds of connection time. You receive the faxes via email or on the web site (in PDF form), and you send the faxes also via email or on the web site. I love being able to get faxes even if I'm away from the office. You do need to buy a scanner in order to scan in things to fax them, but scanners are really cheap these days.
YMMV, but I just don't htink it's worth the hassles trying to get a fax line working with any type of VOIP, Vonage or otherwise. |
