I just noticed the firmware posted on their site. Has anybody here with this router imaged the new firmware to your device?

The easiest way to update your firmware, at least as far as I know regarding
Vonage
devices, is to reboot your
Vonage
phone adapter/router and let it load up the new firmware - Whenever the
Vonage
device is turned off, the current firmware is also deleted, and when turned on, it gets the latest one. At least you don't have to go through the hassle of doing all sorts of configurations...

well not all th times the
Vonage
device automatically downloads its firmware,
and turning off your
Vonage
device will cut the process of downloading the firmware, and eventually frying the device..

actually there's nothing to worry about on this
even though your device was off,,,
as soon as you turn on your device...
it will still download the latest one.
but if the device is defective,
better buy a new one...

I think someone tried a month or so ago, and the codepattern is wrong for the
Vonage
flavor of the device.
This is just as well, because the firmware would most certainly be unsupported by
Vonage
, and in all likelihood
Vonage
would detect that you were running something other than the supported firmware version (1.00.62 currently for the WRTP54G) and would automatically upgrade/downgrade you to 1.00.62.
So, even if you managed it, your victory would be very short-lived.
If your WRTP54G is running something older than 1.00.62, it is probably because some of the older firmware upgrades required more memory than the WRTP54G in stock configuration could manage to free up. Turn off the wireless access point and reboot the WRTP54G, that usually frees up enough memory.
If you have a WRTP54G or RTP300 and are stuck on an older firmware, this article is something I wrote up based on various threads on the subject:
