I have just bought a D-Link VTA Phone Adapter, Plugged it in last night and was making calls in no time. I have had a quick read over previous threads and can see that there does seem to be a problem with caller display with some phones. I have contacted support about this but not yet had a reply. The number is displayed on the website under my account but the handset always displays unknown. I have also realised that the phone rings about 3 times before the phone plugged into the dlink starts to ring. Has anyone got any experience in resolving any of this ? If it dosen't get resolved i can always take it back and try and get a refund
Thanks

Mark
Unfortunately in my experience of the caller ID issue, Vonage are either unable or unwilling to make any changes to allow my existing phone (which is compatible with the BT caller ID method) to recognise the caller ID information.
I have also noticed the delay in ringing - funnily enough, I have a Motorola VT2442 adapter, and it shows when there is activity on the line and that starts flickering as soon as I hear the first ring (when ringing myself from my BT line) but the phone only rings after the 2 ring. I put this done to some other incompatibility with the phone I use for Vonage.
It took over a month for Vonage to close the issue I had with caller ID (without resolution) so if caller ID is important to you and you dont want to invest in a new phone then I can only recommend a refund (although I dont generally have any other complaints about the service). |

Hi Mark,
I have had the exact same problem, Vonage TS said they knew it was a problem with them - caller ID - and its something they are trying to resolve. However with the bottle neck incomming - 4 rings - I can only assume its the weak link of the Vonage adapter pre-dect, I am going to try a new dect to see if it eleviates any of the issues but have to agree 'generally' the service from Vonage has been good. I guess we are the active hardware field Beta testers... they obviously didnt actually test many physical set-ups pre-release but if people post up their findings good and bad we can maybe come to a recommended set-up which works for Vonage people. |

FYI: Vonage have now resolved my outgoing caller ID problem.
I had to give TS the MAC code off my Vonage device. |
