Well, off to a very rocky start with Vonage. I picked up my V-phone from BestBuy tonight. Plugged it in, it updated its firmware and I attempted to register.
Got an error.... Called the help line, rep transferred me to "advanced customer service" and now, here I sit. Waiting for my MAC address to "be added to inventory" and I should receive an email telling me when my "work order" is complete.
Hmm.... this was after the rep trying to tell me that the MAC address begins with 00 when the sticker on my V-phone starts with AA.
So far, the "new" phone company acts and sound a lot like the "old" phone company. I sit here with a useless V-phone while the 24-48 (why don't they just tell you 4 clock runs its course. Pity that I need this thing tomorrow as I'm traveling -- hopefully I won't have a problem registering while I'm out on the road. I will post an update once the 48-hour clock runs its course. Oh, did I mention that I should recieve an email update soon.... Of course, that, too, seems to have its own 24-48 hour clock as well.....
Very shaky start, very shaky..... any more of this and it will be bye-bye Vonage...... |
