The phone is working (albeit intermittantly, subject of another post). I wanted to go into the setup page for the pap2, see if there's anything I can monkey around with. I know the ip address, but I'm getting bubkis. Firewalls are off, and pap2 is in the dmz (although this really shouldn't matter, since everything is behind the router).
Am I misssing something? Is there a specific port I need to include?
thanks. |

If the PAP2 has a setup page, I'm not aware of it. It's set up through its telephone interface. |

Pap2 has a setup page; stopped working on me when I first encountered my router problems. |

It sounds like it may have been assigned a different IP address. Can you go into the DHCP routing table and see what's the IP is? |

No, I got the ip address correct.. It's tied by its mac address to a specific number, and it comes up in both the dhcp table and voice menu (****, 110*) as the ip address ip hitting. I remember now that the web setup worked before I had the pap2 setup (i.e., before it was connecting to the internet). Is it possible that once it connected to the internet it disabled the web setup? According to the pap2 manual, there is a way to enable/disable the web setup, but it says this option is password protected, and that it normally comes from the factory disabled. |

Does it say "See your provider" or something like that? |

no... says web page not found.. which seems to indicate to me that the web server in the box is disabled, or just not accepting traffic. |

The first time the PAP2 connects to Vonage, the firmware is updated and, among other things, the web interface gets disabled. Once the PAP2 has talked to Vonage, the only access you have is via the phone interface, unless you get into hacking back in, which is not to be discussed here! |

Makes sense. The only time I was able to access the web config page was prior to connecting.. It's a real shame. All the bits that Vonage could possibly care about (i.e., the menus that allow you to de-bind from Vonage) are protected by yet another password. The only stuff you can access relate to ip address, network setup, and a few interesting things related to bandwith... |

if it's a pap2v2 you can set a static ip on your pc and connect directly to the p2v2 at the gateway ip. |
