Anyone else notice a considerable time delay from ringing into your vonage number and the actual phone connected to vonage ringing ? I assume its the vonage box itself which causes the bottleneck as I can see the broadband router flashing as soon as I dial in. Anyone else notice this or got any suggestions as to how to reduce this delay ? |

Yeah a couple of people have seen this issue. Myself being one of them. I'm on my second device (Dlink WVR) and there is a 3 ring delay,US Ring Style and intermittent caller id still
I would like to see how many dedicated staff they have in the US covering the UK help desks??
Perhaps Kerry can answer that one as my patience is starting to grow a little thin now on the unresolved issues I have.

Hi Darlo,
Nice to know that its a 'typical!' fault, I'm onto technical support and I'll see what they recommend. FYI im using the D-Link 604T wireless router through the vonage box out to a normal Panasonic DECT, also takes me about 3 rings to connect.
If I resolve it I'll post up my findings. |

I get the same issue with the D link VWR, I upgraded from an RT31P2 router, and originally upgraded to a Motorola VT2442, which my parents have and that works very well. Vonage told me that they were outr of stock and that I would be very happy with my D link VWR........definately not, its poor! |

I originally had the VT2442 and I liked it too. They managed to solve the UK ring tone and the three ring delay issue. They didn't however fix the caller ID issue. I was advised that the device maybe faulty and lets swap it.
So I did and was told VT out of stock (still being advertised on site though??) and I would get a Dlink WVR.
My thoughts on the WVR
1. Not a looker is it? lights too small for instance
2. OMG what a horrible looking UI for the device compared to the VT2442 .
3. I'm back to square one all 3 issues outstanding.
Perhaps VonageUK could do a Q&A session on this forum allowing the UK customers to give comments/suggestions and moans?
If it wasn't for the fact that we have told everyone we know that our number has changed I would consider losing the £23 and changing back to Telewest and wait for their broadband voice solution. |
