I've been with NTL for several years and have their 4MB service via an Ambit 60194E-A12 modem.
I just cancelled the landline and set up with vonage. After 10 calls to their very pleasant help desk I still can't get a consistant quality of service.
Latency, poor speech quality and worst is the choppy voice. We've tried all sorts of test and setting to no avail.
The last vonage agent sigested it might be that I have an old modem and I should get one with DOCIS 2,0.
Will NTL supply one if I ask? If not where can I buy one? |

They should certainly supply you with one, seeing as only their supplied modems will work with their service. |

Vonage suggested I get a Motorola SB5100. Would this work in the UK? |

I would approach ntl: about this before purchasing, as when I worked for them they only allowed their own supplied modems on the network. |

I didn't think NTL supported DOCIS 2. |
