Hi, I have several lines with Vonage, and use call hunt. I also like to use call forwarding so when I am out of the office, the call is forwarded to my cellphone. However, can anyone tell me whether or not you can minimize the wait time of 16 seconds before Vonage's call forwarding? Apparently, "This value cannot be changed because the phone number is included in a Call Hunt sequence." Please advise. I've tried calling tech support but all they say is "if you cannot change it via your account online, then you cannot do it." Well, I'd like a second opinion, please. |

Well, they are right.
Because the number is part of a Call Hunt, you can't do much with a number in the sequence. If you want traffic on a line to go to your cell or where ever, you would have to setup Call Forwarding separately for each line and finally ending up on whatever phone. This leads to problems though. If the call isn't answered within 2 minutes of initiation, the call will drop. So if each line rings for 30 seconds on 4 lines, it will never make it to line 5 and the call will drop. It's part of the protocol to keep traffic from sitting on an auto-dialing system. So I would recommend you setting up the Call Forwarding in an order you want to ring for 10-15 seconds, to then move to the next line for the same time, then finally on the last phone. |
