I have the VT2442 Router/Phone Adapter that I recieved when I signed up for Vonage. Everything has been working quite well (phone, internet). The other day I happened to notice that the "Internet" light on the front panel is not lighting up. It used to blink when I was online (browsing internet or online games), now it does nothing. I rebooted all of the devices and when I reboot the VT2442 Router/Phone Adapter the "Internet" Light does come on (so I know it works) but once it goes through it's setup it goes out and never comes back on again.

I have gone into my Control Panel>Network Connections and it does tell me that I am connected at 100Mbps, but the device is not telling me this (as it used to when it lit up). Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if I should be concerned or forget about it. . .

That's an odd one. I've never seen that on my VT2442. Nevertheless, I wouldn't worry about it as long as everything else is working properly.

I know that the VT2442s have had an odd firmware upgrade and on some devices, the phone lights turn red or blink red, as well as the occasional light not coming on when it should If you know how to access the admin page, post was firmware version you are running. I'll check it to see if it is the latest

Yeah it seems like everything is working properly, phone works find, internet works fine and according to the pc properties I am connected at 100Mbps (which is what the light is supposed to be telling me). I just thought it was odd that the "internet" light stopped blinking all of a sudden.

Yeah I read in another thread that some guy said his phone2 light came on his VT2442 device and he was told it was due to a firmware upgrade. Oddly enough my Phone2 light is on as well and I only have one phone line plugged in. According to my router setup I am running "11.4.0-r060818-1.2.0 -r2". This is indeed a different version than I used to have as I wrote down the version when I first got the device (the old one was 11.1.0-r060427-0.7.1 -r3)

11.4.1_r060901-1.3.0 is the latest version firmware I have on record. Hmm. Again, I think it was the odd firmware upgrade because I think the version I listed was suposed to be the fix that didn't work. Even the newest firmware had some problems.

Where are you finding these updates? Just curious because this is the first (router/phone adapter) that I have ever used. My previous routers had firmware updates on the websites but I see nonhing on Vonages website or Motorola's website (infact the router/phone adapter I can't even find on their site).

Heh, well, I am getting this information from the Internal Knowledge Base for the Vonage Tech Supprt center where I work. I just located the device in our IKB and found the version.
