When I originally installed the VT1005V, I was able to access the settings GUI and made 1 change. I can't recall exactly what the dialogue was but I'm almost certain it was "enable pass through". I have not been able to get at those settings ever since I saved them and the box rebooted.
Any ideas?
Thank you : |

I have the same problem and found this on another forum. I have not tried it yet, but I will.
Set a static IP on the computer connected to the Motorola box.
Address: 192.168.102.100 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.102.1
Connect the ethernet port on the computer to the PC port on the Motorola.
Then use your browser to try to access the Motorola by typing this address: 192.168.102.1.
Then change the Motorola configuration back to what it was when things were working.
If this doesn't work, call Vonage support. They can tell you how to access and inaccessible router doing the above or something similar. |

I got shut out of the Moto ATA after I disabled DHCP. Didn't need that feature since the ATA was going to sit behind my FW.
Vonage tech support walked me through setting up a static IP on the connecting computer to allow me to log in. Steps they gave me mirror those in the previous post. |

Thank you both. I was able to access the settings after making the configuration changes you included.
However, after setting DHCP back the way it was and rebooting, I was still unable to connect when plugging the PC back into the router and going back to "obtain IP address automatically".
I'm not too concerned about that though because I know how to get at the settings again if I need to.
Thanks again! |

Remember, your router probably assigns addresses to your PC's in a different network address range than the Motorola such as 192.168.1.xxx You will then have to assign yourself a static IP address in the Motorola's range of 192.168.102.xxx if you want to get to its admin. screen. (Substitute xxx for 2 to 254)

This thread is especially valuable because the PDF manual that you can download from Motorola has it wrong. It suggests the following:
192.169.102.xxx 255.255.255.0 192.168.102.1
and, of course, this doesn't work. The settings mentioned earlier in this thread worked for me. |
