I am having trouble with incoming and outgoing calls on my Vonage line. During an outgoing call, it takes up to 5 seconds to initialize the call once it is apperent that the other end has picked up. During incoming, the line often drops the call completely after 5 seconds, or the voice sound wavers in and out of reception (like bad cell phone).
Setup is: D-Link VTA (set to static IP, running DMZ form the router) Linksys WRT54G (current firmware allowing QoS & DMZ) Rogers Express (1800kbps/380kbps) Simple Corded phone to eliminate possible problems
The service is so unreliable that I would rather use my cell phone for most calls, which is obviously unacceptable. Have contacted tech support who have tried numberous things. Any help would be great since Vonage doesn't seem to know what to do. |

i upgraded my WRT54G router to hyperwrt/thibor15c firmware and I still cant believe the improvement in performance as my Vonage performance was on par with yours. |

Additionally, I disabled the SPI firewall in the router and set up a thorough QoS profile -- here was a HUGE increase in performance
Currently, I have 2 servers online transferring files and phone calls are crystal clear for both parties. |
