Yes, the politicians have caught up with Vonage and have put Vonage in the same position as all the other landline phone companies ........ taxing customers at 25%.

I did an analysis of my last Vonage billing. I am paying 26.2% in fees and taxes. In addition, the state and local taxes are applied to the service and fees total. In my case, the state and local authorities were able to increase their take by an additional 1% of my billing. In realtiy they were able to take 10% more than they would have gotten if their tax was applied to only the service cost amount. This approach smacks of graft of the process and taking advantage.

All in all though, it is the politicians that are doing this to the phone companies and the public users of telephone service.

just my two cents worth.
