Post subject: Transfer number to a different provider
I attempted to switch providers from
Vonage
to another company and transfer my phone number. The order has been rejected by
Vonage
twice because of "address problems". I've called
Vonage
customer service and they couldn't help. Has anyone heard of such a problem before? Any ideas on how to proceed?

Winback
, transfering a number that was ported to
Vonage
to another phone company or back to where it was ported from.
here's how:
1. Keep
Vonage
account active until the winback process is complete.
(why? For LEC to confirm account`s active and prevent the number from being accidentaly given to other customers)
2. Call
Vonage
to cancel account when the winback is complete.
Note: Disconnected numbers can also be ported out as long as it is transferred in to
Vonage
originally.

Or, have you provided them your PON from the receiving LEC as proof of the number transfer request?
Since i suppose, they would forward it to the carrier on you bahalf. Also what i know is that
Vonage
does not take part in the whole winback process.

. you have to call in to
Vonage

Just make sure that your
Vonage
account name is exactly the same as your previous account and you shouldn't have any problems.
