I was having some problems with my configuration attempting to enable FTP and HTTP forwarding. I made a change to the phone settings through my browser, and once I saved them and rebooted the ATA box, I was no longer able to access the settings again.
The good news is that I resolved my forwarding issues by putting the ATA behind the firewall, instead of in front of it. My switch and wireless connection is working fine, and I have a dial tone and can make and receive calls. I just won't be happy until I can log into that box again!
Is there a way to restore factory settings, or get at the box some other way?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd like to chime in here. I got my MTA box a few days ago, changed some settings (I think I turned the DHCP off), rebooted. Phone seemed to work fine, so I forgot about it.
Then, yesterday I was told by someone that they couldn't get through to me.. even though I was right next to the phone. I tried to make a call, and it worked, but I was told they were getting poor sound quality.
Then I checked my router's DHCP client list, and the MTA wasn't showing up! (but I could still make calls). Of course, that probably means none of the port-forwarding was working, which may have caused the "unreachable" situation. I rebooted the MTA and it showed up on the DHCP list, only to disappear again after 6 hours or so.
So, I decided, maybe I should do something about it (perhaps give the MTA a static IP? Turn DHCP back on?). Then, I realized, I couldn't connect to the box using the good ol' 192.168.102.1 address. And the box doesn't have a "reset" button like many routers do. I'm at a loss.

I am having the same problem and found this on another forum. I haven't tried it yet, but I will.
Try this:
Set a static IP on the computer connected to the Motorola box.
Address: 192.168.102.100 subnet: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.102.1
Connect the ethernet port on the computer to the PC port on the Motorola.
Then use your browser to try to access the Motorola by typing this address: 192.168.102.1.
Then change the Motorola configuration back to what it was when things were working.
At least I think this is it. I am going by memory.
If this doesn't work, call Vonage support. They can tell you how to access and inaccessible router doing the above or something similar. |

Setting up a static IP on the connecting computer is the same solution Vonage support stepped me through when I got shut out of the ATA. Worked just fine. |

Thank you both. I was able to access the settings after making the configuration changes you included.
However, after setting DHCP back the way it was and rebooting, I was still unable to connect when plugging the PC back into the router and going back to "obtain IP address automatically".
I'm not too concerned about that though because I know how to get at the settings again if I need to.
Thanks again! |
