Post subject: Static with D-Link Vta-VR
I have just set up
Vonage
this week and transferred my number over. But, now that I have connected all of the house phones I get static on the lines. If I connect only one phone directly to the box it is a clean line. I didn't have any static when I had Verizon before switching.
I am connect from: Internet (Comcast) -- Linksys Wireless router WRT54G --
Vonage
-- to RJ11 in the wall. The
Vonage
box is about 4 feet from the cable modem and router.
I called tech support and was on the phone off and on for about 2 hours but we couldn't get rid of the static. Although, when he did remove the static I lost the ringing and the caller ID so we eventually changed it back.
Any ideas?????

Post subject: update
After getting to the rat's nest of wiring I found a bad line in the basement. Luckily it was for a couple of jacks that I don't use.
