Just purchased F1000 WIFI phone. It should recognize my wireless network (airport base station and an airport express to lenghten the signal plus 3 powerbooks). However the phone hangs at 'registering via airport'. Any ideas?

If the phone got as far as "Registering via ...", it means that it is happy with the airport - it goes from "Connecting to .." on to "Registering via ..." when it gets linked to the AP and gets an IP address from the router.

If the phone never worked anywhere, then it is possible that your router or ISP is blocking TFTP and you are not getting the Vonage config file - so you have no SIP credentials, which would come from the Vonage config server. If it worked anywhere, then there are SIP credentials, but you are not reaching Vonage for some reason.

Have a look at the phone's local log under MISC -> Local Log. What's there when the phone is trying to register??

The Local Log says:
Item 1: Wifi Connected
Item 2: Wifi Disconnected
Item 3: Wifi Connected

I have full bars on the phone when it tries to access the airport. After not being able to turn it on I did end up messing with setting 'Network paramenters' and put the airport's IP adress there. Don't know how to undo that or if it even matters.

When you put in the IP address, does the phone correctly show the subnet mask, DNS server, and other parameters when you look at Network Information? The fact that the phone does not show any "Register out..." message in the log, while it says "Registering via..." on the display indicates that it is not getting a DNS response so it does not know where to send the register (or anything else - it seems that it is not even requesting the config file from Vonage).

If you want to clear everything and start again, you can go to MISC -> Factory Reset. The password for this will either be null (just press OK) or utvonpw as the default if the phone never found its way to Vonage. This reset will clear all access point settings and will also cause the phone to try pulling a new configuration from Vonage.

Cleared the phone with Factory Reset, and it worked. Made a call and received a call. It now shows my phone number on the main screen. It never did go through the "initial Provisioning' and turn itself off, but I guess I am not worried about that as long as it makes and receives calls. Thanks for you help!! Lol

Well, it kinda works. I noticed that if often disconnects, (about every 10 minutes) the goes back to connecting.., and registering via.. Then it beeps and is up and running. Is this a normal thing?

It is good to hear that the phone is working now.

There is a problem reported in a small number of phones where they reboot when the battery is fully charged and the phone is still connected to the charger. I believe that this was corrected in more recent software versions, but I am not sure which version - most people have 5.5vo, which shows this sometimes. If you take the phone off the charger, it should stay running without the reboot.

Another thing to try is to reset the User Profiles (Under Settings -> Security -> Reset All) - at "enter code" put in 888888 (six eights) or what ever you changed the code to if you changed it.
