Post subject: Help, TW won't port # to different exchange, but....
SO I am moving to the next village over , 8 miles, and TW said it can't port my number to the new address because it is in a different exchange.
I just moved in and plugged in the TW cable box, hooked up my number and it works. What can I do to sneak it through time warner? cancel the upcoming service call in which they were going to issue a new #?

I would recommend that you port your number to
Vonage
.
It is likely that with TW you are going to have issues with your E911 information being incorrect. If you were to move again you may find out that your TW# won't move with you.
If you decide to stay with TW then I would be certain that your phone works in all situations. Specifically, does it get all incoming calls including those coming from other TW#s in both your previous and current exchange?
