Here's a good one...good 'ol Vonage has given my number, after I cancelled my account, to two other people. I finally phoned Vonage today and the lady there checked my number. She said she was having difficulty finding my old account since there is more than one name on that number.

DUH.

Even after I dumped that stupid company, I still get haunted by them!

All phone companies recycle phone numbers, 6 months is the usual time frame for re-use.

did I miss something?

You leave Vonage - phone number cancelled. Vonage reassigns the number. Basically what and why they did that is not your concern but I digress.

How did you get affected by this? Get phone calls? How are you still being haunted?

Vonage wasnt for you. So how were thet stupid?

not sure if I'm beating a horse senseless but here goes

did you port number or get one assigned from Vonage?

If you got one assigned then - as everyone says: whats the beef?

Now if you ported it from somewhere and its "technically" yours thats a horse of a different color and not even beaten up. Hmm mixing metaphors.

correct me if im wrong, bt based on the previous posts, what you are saying is that that number is originally yours.you ported that number over to Vonage from another carrier so technically, that number belonged to you. (i guess you are quite right there)

now, along the way, you had decided to cancel your account and had swtched back to your orginal provider or to a new provider.;so technically speaking, you are porting out your number to Vonage right? is that what you getting at? because if that is what you meant to say, then, your von account must remain active until the other carrier can take it from Vonage, otherwise, that number gets lost, and worse, be assigned to somebody else.
