Hi,

I’ve been lurking here for some time but just registered. I am trying to get the java applet (or similar) that is outlined here (https://secure.click2callu.com/) that someone has already compiled as I don’t have the compiler needed.

What I am most interested in is a way to (from a command line) setup calls (I don’t mind having my UN/PW setting in a script on my box). I also need to be able to suppress the initial login screen if possible since my HA box reboots twice a week and I don’t want to have to remember to log in.

How about using the command line tool curl ?

http://curl.haxx.se/

To execute click2call from the command line:

curl https://secure.click2callu.com/tpcc/makecall?username=username&password=password&fromnumber=fromNumber&tonumber=toNumber

I compiled the sample code. I can email it to you if you want it now. PM me with your address. Otherwise I will post it to a website when I get out from behind this firewall and post a link in this topic.

Realize that anyone giving you code could be sending you code that emails your username/password or does other nefarious things. Such code could easily be a Trojan. I recommend that you either compile the code yourself or get it from a reputable source.

Do you have Java 1.4.2 or greater installed?

Do you want to enter your username and password on the command line or have them stored in a configuration file? If they are stored, do they need to be encrypted? Previously some people have encrypted the password with the username, not secure, but at least the password isn't in plain text, do you want this done?

Do you want to enter the from number on the command line or should it be stored in a configuration file? Do you want the ability to use multiple from numbers and override a default on the command line?

Do you want a command to list phone numbers for an account?

What do you want the command line to look like? What do you want the output to look like when the program succeeds? When it fails?

Do you want this capability integrated with some other product?

Any of the above could be done, most of it for free.

Wow! Ideally I don’t want to have to type in the UN/PW when the app starts so I don’t have to worry about having that hold things up.

I am going to integrate with MainLobby for “speed dial” from my HA system. I may just be able to use what vonalink suggests and feed it the command line that I need. Basically, I want to be able to send a command line with the phone number (all the rest – UN/PW/from number - will be static).

Would you be interested in having Click-2-Call as a MainLobby plugin? I would be glad to contact Cinemar and see what is involved.

[EDIT: The key benefits I imagine would be the ability to configure the username and password via the MainLobby interface and the ability to see the result of the C2C attempt there as well.

Please let me know if you have any specific requirements.]

One last question, do you think Vonage voice mail integration would be a useful feature?

Not really for me but maybe for others. MusicLobby offers play back capabilities and MLCallerID might be a cool tie in as well - for returning calls from people...

I just got an email from Cinemar saying that Java was not supported for plugin development contrary to the information posted on their web site;

Quote:
Users have the ability to create plugins in VB, C++, C#, .NET, Java, PerlScript, Python, PScript, JScript, VBScript - basically any language that has a windows scripting engine. Contact Cinemar if you would like more information.

Sorry Sad
