When I have the Motorola VT2442 connected the phone service works great but I can not connect to my ISP's POP3 server. My ISP has WEB mail but I really would like to be able to use Outlook Express again. Any help in this matter wold be appreciated. |

We'll need more info. Like what is the schema of your home network. Do you have any other routers, or are you using the vt2442 exclusively? Is the vt2442 running in default mode, meaning nothing has been configured since you received it?
Try disconnecting the vt2442 and see if the problem persists and try telneting to port 110 with the vt2442 and without, what are the results? You shouldn't have any problems connecting to port 110 with the vt2442, unless port blocking has been enforced somewhere. |

For what it's worth, in central Florida using Road Runner, I could once access the POP server as simply pop_server. Later I had to start using pop_server@cfl.rr.com . If you have a similar "shorthand" address for your ISP, putting the router in may now require that you use a "longhand" address. |
