Post subject: Ethernet/ usb converter
i am trying to install the
Vonage
[rt31p2 router] with my SAGEM FAST 800 E3 MODEM, unfortunately the modem i have uses usb for my pc.. so i thought i need to buy a router i bought a dlink dsl -320T router, what i'm thinking to resolve this issue is to replace the sagem modem with the dlink... but the next problem.. i dont have ethernet port on my pc... is there any other way to use my pc.. without buying an ethernet card/ LAN card, would it work if i use an ethernet/ usb converter.. to have a setup of:
dlink modem>>rt31p2>>>usb/ ethernet converter>> my pc
i wanted to make sure if it would work before buying one..

I believe this setup would work...
So that would mean you'd have to install the USB converter's driver, right?
I'm not sure, but wouldn't the conversion process from ethernet to USB decrease your bandwidth a little?
Best thing to do is borrow a friend's converter and try it out on your system before purchasing one... (in my case)
