"we cannot expect people to understand the cultural/language differences with open arms."
Yes we can. It's called a "job requirement." If a company wants to hire me, and the condition is that I must speak Tagalog, then that's a job requirement. If a company wants to hire someone to support a primarily English speaking service, and a condition of hiring is an understanding and ability to use that language, then that's a job requirement. Why is it so hard to understand that in order to provide effective customer service, you must tailor your support system to the customer base?

hold your horses dave. what im merely stating is that you have to respect these people's differences. true, they aren't super efficient w/ their grammar, but also true that you can at least understand half of their words.(at least i do)
as you have said - one of the requirements is to speak decent english - regardless of the accent issues, its still english right? and its not that they arent aware of these issues.
i dnt know, i may be naive, but they are nice people..
peace.

I would never say anything is wrong with the people. Their just people trying to hold down jobs, just like the rest of us, and feed their families. I'm sure they are very nice as well.
However, who I hold accountable is
Vonage
itself. If their idea is to improperly train or unefficiently staff the Customer Sevice division, then they will sow the seeds of their own destruction. Many a company has died simply because people stopped calling, people stopped buying, people stopped referring friends and such.

Man, it's been too long since anyone has given me a BZ. It still feels good.

That would explain the inability to recognize a sarcastic, political wisecrack.
