I was using the configuration screen no problem yesterday, but I couldn't get the phone to work - I think I had it all cabled up wrong!

Anyway, today I moved the router to a new location so I could wire it up to the modem and network the way it should be, but now I can't log in to the router.

I had the modem plugged into the internet port and my laptop/network switch into the ethernet ports. With that config though the internet wasn't working.
I also couldn't access the router.

I then moved the router back to how it was yesterday when I could log into it, but now it won't assign me an IP address. If I assign a static IP to my laptop (e.g. 192.168.15.4) I can ping the router but internet explorer and firefox can not access it.

The reset button isn't doing anything!


What else can I try please?

Please post the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum. You can do the Voip tests by just plugging your computer directly into your modem, without the RT31P2.

Make sure that you hold the RT31P2 reset button in for at least 30 seconds. Set your computer to get its IP dynamically, plug it into an RT31P2 LAN port, and you should be able to get to the admin page.

Thanks for your reply Steve, I have only been holding the reset button for 15-20 seconds, although the router user guide does say it only need 5 seconds; but I will it for longer.
My computer is set to get IP dynamically. Until I can reset the router it won't give me an IP though. I'll keep trying.

OK. Meanwhile, you're getting a lot of delay time in your Voip test, and your packet losses are high, but we'll work one issue at a time. When you say your service type is "wired", what do you mean? Is it DSL, cable, or what?

I held the reset button down for over 30 seconds and still no good.

I'm on NTL cable...but my network is wired, not wireless.
