Yes, removed the router but still the same issue - it will work for about 2-4 hours before getting unprovisioned again. What's really funny is when I reboot the Motorola Vt2442 sometimes it will go to this page:

http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/gazetteer

In any event it looks more and more like the Vonage adapter. When I call them I do I get them to replace it without having to jump through a bunch of hoops for 3+ hours?

I'm afraid that's a real variable. The last time I lost a router (lightning strike) it only took a few minutes. Others in here complain about it taking a lot of time and effort.

Yes. Usually I just call 888 250 1799 and get directly with the New Jersey crowd. Oddly enough, this time I elected to call the regular 866 243 4357 number and got tier 1 in India (?). The guy I got took care of things very quickly. Just the luck of the draw I guess.

eventhough it didn't work with my FVS318. I replaced my cable modem and my router (Netgear WGU624 I had lying around)...well see if that resolves it.

After having the same issue with my 2 Motorola boxes, I decided to try a factory restore on them.

That solved it. Since I have factory restored them, it's been 3 days and I have not had any of the default gateway settings change.

Also, one additional note, I was told by Tier1 that this probably was the new firmware that did this.

To those who run Vonage into a phone system - this version of the firmware also disables battery-reversal answer supervision.

I confronted a situation this morning with my connection. After rebooting everything was OK then shortly I was off line again.
Cry
After checking everything for the not so obvious Rolling Eyes I went to the old basic start from the beginning. When checking cable connections I found the cable connection to the modem not completely tight (could wiggle it). After tightening this possible problem and re-seating all other cables everything seems to work as designed.
The strange part was my internet connection seemed to be OK but slower than usual.
May not help you but it is just food for thought.
