Can I call
Vonage
, subscribe, and have the adapter shipped to my Manila address?
No.
Vonage
.com will only ship to the USA,
Vonage
.ca to Canada and
Vonage
.co.uk to the UK.

So I assume that use in the Philippines (except for travellers) is not sanctioned or supported by

That is correct. That is not to say that it is not being done.

Yes all sorts of interesting things are done. I've been in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Philippines and Indonesia with my
Vonage
box, works fine. Other places interfere with
VoIP
, then have to use VPN.

Currently have the 2MBps service on PLDT DSL. I was wondering which will be the best adapter to use. The devices listed are the ones I have. They will be connected behind a Linksys WRT54G router and a Zyxel ADSL modem. (It will be DMZ’d & QoS’d). I did attempt to hook up the RTP300 last February but I can’t get the number transferred to that adapter (blocked ports??) I am going to attempt it again next month but maybe someone can give me a clue on which device performs well on fluctuating bandwidths
D-link VTA-VR
Linksys WRTP54G
Linksys RT31P2
Linksys RTP-300

Post subject: How to connect using Bayantel
Hi guys!
It's my first time here and I have a problem which I hope you can help
.
A close relative of mine sent me a
Vonage
adaptor (D-Link VTA-VD) and I've connected it to a Zyxel modem-router but I still cannot get it to work. The only message I get is "Your
Vonage
device cannot connect to the
Vonage
network". The user guide said to check the network setup for changes in the setting but I have no idea how to go about this. All I know is that I'm connected to BayanDSL. Is there a different setting for BayanDSL users? I hope anybody out there can help. Thanks!

Thanks for your concern. I've called the
Vonage
Tech Support and they've helped me troubleshoot the problem and concluded that the
Vonage
adapter was not working proberly and had arranged it to be sent back to the US and a replacement unit be sent immediately. Also, my sister who owns the account got a rebate equal to the amount of the adaptor from
Vonage
.
As of late, I've found out that the
Vonage
has been sent but has been unable to be delivered by the courier service (though I'm not sure why). If I still have trouble connecting this device, once I get it, I'll know where to turn to. Thanks!
