Please, canibus stop adding to the misinformation in this thread. You are wrong. If you bothered to read what the OP or I wrote you would see that. He has a BLINKING red/orange light not a SOLID one. It IS in the manual as it is not a new feature, it is something that was supposed to work from the beginning and was just fixed to work properly by the latest firmware. I thought my post said that pretty clearly, but I guess I was mistaken. I have this device in my house as my primary
Voip
device and I work with
Voip
devices all day long at my job(including the VT2442), trust me when I say that the answer I am providing you is the correct one.
If you require further proof or confirmation as it appears me saying this is not enough for you please see:
http://vonage.com/help.php?article=1088
and make note of this:
Phone 1-2 Solid red A phone line with a live PSTN dial tone is plugged into one of the phone ports. Note: The line must be removed and the device rebooted for the port to operate.
Phone 1 - 2 Blinking green Phone for that line is ringing
Phone 1 - 2 Blinking orange (may appear red) There is voicemail on that line
As you can see there is a difference between a solid red light and a blinking red light. As the original post states he has a blinking light. HE HAS VOICEMAIL.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Sorry for the very late reply, but I've been very busy.
I called, the person who picked up said the same thing. Once you
delete
the voicemail, then the red/orange flashing light will go away.
