I don't have anything plugged into the Phone 2 jack, nor do I have a 2nd line. The Phone 2 light is always solid green, whether I am on the phone or not.

I have the adapter hard wired into my house via Phone 1 (and that light acts normally--solid when not in use, blinking when in use), but 2 is always solid.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same issue with my vt2442. Funny thing is that led only turned on solid green the past day or so. Before that it was always off. Vonage Canada is sending me a replacement vt2442 as a result.

That being said, the service hasn't been affected by this anomaly Smile

Why are you getting a replacement? Did you just get Vonage recently?

My Phone 2 light is still on solid green for the second day...

Could you post again to this thread when you get your new adapter and let us know if the problem goes away?

I called Vonage yesterday and was told that the adapter was downloading an update. I don't thjink the guy was too sure, however. Anyway, the manual says the two Phone lights blinking indicates an update. It says nothing about the lights being solid.

I'll contact Vonage again and I'll post the result.

I just checked and my phone 2 light has come on as well. Also, the firmware has changed since the last time I looked at it (a couple of weeks ago?). I suspect they've pushed new firmware and it has a bug.

My Vt 2442 Phone light 2 has been solid green for the last few (3?)days. Prior to that time it was always off as I have only one phone line. I feed the hard wired house phone system from this port 1. My location is northern New Jersey.
This anomaly has had no impact so far on my Voip speed or quality as tested by speed check on this site and by BRIX.

My set up in order is
Toshiba PCX 2600 cable modem
VT 2442
Linksys WRT54G wireless router

Is Vonage replacing all VT 2442 that show both phone lights or is that only in Canada

If they all exhibit the same problem, the problem must be on Vonage's end. The units won't be replaced once this problem becomes known, I'd imagine.

Deryk, I have my system hardwired like you. I don't know if that makes a difference...

I was forwarded to 'advanced support' who couldn't explain why the light came on suddenly. He asked if I wanted a new vt2442 and I said 'sure thing'. The order was entered while I was on the phone and I was informed it would be on it's way in 12-24 hours.

If others are having this problem, I bet the new router will also. I'll let you know when it's hooked up.

Another reason for calling tech sup was because the led on the phone port never goes flashing amber when a voice mail has been received, as it should according to the manual.
