It's a BT Freestyle 2010
Admitadly not the best phone, but the whole point of
Vonage
is to save me money and not spend it on a new phone!
Someone earlier mentioned they managed to get their system sounding like a BT phone. Are
Vonage
likely to tell me where to go if I ask that ?

No not really,
To be fair they are helpful and will try to help you. Just tell support what your problems are.
